About US

We believe we are people first and planners second. We want your connection to be easy and organic with us. We are active listeners. A wedding or event is stressful but beautiful. We are here to ensure you have the best day ever!

A little about our story. We met at our corporate 9-5 job. Eventually one played a Disney playlist and the other offered many snacks, and thus our friendship was born. We owned our own companies prior (Coastal Fern Weddings & Halcyon Events Company). We continuously hired one another on each others events, as we realized the day was so much smoother when we had one another for support.

In September 2018 we launched our new brand, Say Events! We recognized the event world is crazy as it is wonderful and fun, and it is so much better to run a company together. We balance one another like yin and yang. We promise you, your event will be much more successful with two planners on your side!

Co-owner / Principal Planner

TARINA TAYLOR

Tarina is an animal-loving Aquarius! She is equal parts sarcastic, realistic and empathetic. As the eldest of five kids, she has been a leader from the moment her first brother was born. Tarina recently had a baby boy Trent! (Ask us how he decided to be born on a day we had two weddings!) She has two cats, Jax & Tink, a rescue pup named Bruno and is married to Tim Taylor (yes, the toolman). And as a gym junkie, she needs to eat good food at least 5 times a day.

Where will you find her if she’s not working? Most likely at the beach with her family or snacking with her best friends talking life. Tarina has a degree in Hospitality Management from Vancouver Community College.

KELLY DOWBIGGIN

Kelly is half city, half country, all heart. Also the oldest, being a bit of a bossy pants comes naturally. Not a bad thing when working onsite! She loves to travel, and that bucket list keeps growing. She’s a fiery Cancer (the crab) giving her a creative edge. You can find her somewhere near the water with a kayak or paddle board, or hiking the grind with her fella’.

Sustaining on coffee, sushi and a glass of wine every once in a while, Kelly loves to surround herself with family and friends. Kelly has a degree in Art & Culture with a minor in communications from Simon Fraser University. She also obtained a certificate from the Art Institute of Vancouver in Event Management.
