Gearup4 Cystic Fibrosis 2019

We we’re contracted by Cystic Fibrosis this year to run logistics for the 14th annual charity bike ride Gearup4CF. Riders could choose a 1 day ride from White Rock to Chilliwack (106 km) or a 2 day ride from White rock to Manning Park (126 km). Day 1 riders must commit to raising a minimum of $150 and Day 2 riders must commit to raising a minimum of $1500.

We worked with Cystic Fibrosis with all the large logistical components. The team at Cystic Fibrosis focused on fundraising goals, sponsorship, increasing rider registration and maintaining past rider relationships. Our role was to review all logistics for the day. Our main responsibilities were the following

Secure all the city permits for the bike event (White rock, Surrey, Township of Langley, Abbotsford, Chilliwack and the Ministry of Transportation).
Ensuring all insurance was up to date as per cities request and vendors involved.
Reviewing all logistics of the ride including pit stops, water breaks, lunch breaks, and safety.
Reviewing all external components such as first aid, garbage collection and food safe regulations.
Assigning teams of paid employees and volunteers to each station and stop along the route, with a list of duties to be met.
Coordinate with the buses, motorcycle support team, volunteers, hotel leading up and on the day of the event.

We had such a blast. This was a huge project for us, but we had such a wonderful experience and can’t wait for next year! Check out the photos from the event.
