A boho intimate wedding in the middle of the forest. We’re giving you earthy vibes paired with candles and all the romantic feels.
We connected with Kiana via the power of the internet. The couple resides in Williams lake and wanted to have a planner help with their destination wedding in Squamish. In addition to the couple both having demanding jobs, the bride was finishing school one week prior to the wedding day. We planned a wedding all via email, text and many phone calls and executed what was the best day the couple could ask for, and to keep up with their busy schedule!
THE VENUE SURROUNDED BY MOUNTAINS, FOREST AND RIVERS
The couple wanted Squamish as a destination from Williams lake so the wedding would feel more intimate. As the ‘C’ word lingered, the guest list had to be reduced to accommodate the gathering order of British Columbia. Working with the venue, all the vendors, and the couple, we found the safest and best way possible to have the wedding, as the restrictions were continuously changing.
The bonus of Sunwolf lodge in Squamish BC doubles as accommodations. The cabins can accommodate a total of 54 people. All the guests travelled down from Williams lake and were able to stay on site, just a short 1 minute walk from reception to bed!
FIRST LOOK BY THE RIVER
The beautiful soul Madison Joy Co Photography captured the couple beautifully as they opted for the first look. Squamish offers so much beauty with vast greenery, mountains and the sea. Due to fires, the mountain scape is absent but the light covering before it got heavy in the following days. The river that runs right along the back of the venue set the picturesque spot for the couple to read vows back to back.
Protip: Read eachothers vows back to back for the first look. It sets the tone to connect and slow down together.
ROMANTIC FILLED DECOR
The flower inspiration for this boho intimate wedding in the middle of the forest came from the love of a toffee rose that the bride adored, paired with the burnt orange of the maid of honour’s dress from Aritizia. The florist, A Fox in the Flowers, used the colour tones, textures, lots of eucalyptus and topped it all off with all the pampas grass one can find! The ceremony hexagon arch was built by the groom himself! We softened it with fabric with a custom flower install. The aisle were lined with pampas grass to tie in the theme.
Pro tip: Repurpose your ceremony flowers for your reception. The arch piece was moved to the head table after the I do’s!
We layered the wood harvest tables with flowers, colours, custom table numbers from Willow Calligraphy and black plates & orange napkins from A&B Party Rentals. We strung lights with greens up in the clear roof tent from Blacksheep rentals to pull the forest element inside.
EARTHY VIBES CEREMONY
The couple wanted their friend to marry them. However, in BC you cannot be an ordained minister (as they do in the movies). The couple legally said I do in the morning with local Squamish officiant Susan Brandt, and then opted for a more casual ceremony with family and friends.
THE RECEPTION
The venue offered a lot of perks. The reception was held in a private space between the restaurant, the forest and the cabins. The tent was beautifully lit with candle light and string lights above, and surrounded with the darkness cover of the forest. To end the evening, we distributed to each guest table late night donuts from Frolic & Forage and we picked up pizza from Dominos!
Pro tip: You can always order a late night snack from an outside source. But don’t rely on an app or a phone call the day of. Do a little research, call ahead and ask what is possible. For example, this venue was out of the delivery range. We made arrangements to pick up the pizza at a certain time and brought it to the venue for the party. Who knew a Honda civic could smell so delicious!

Tarina and Kelly made the wedding of our dreams come true. They went above and beyond what I expected in helping me during a difficult wedding planning time. We changed venues, and dates, and they were very supportive through it all. They also KILLED the décor!!! Everything I ever envisioned my wedding day would look like… these two made it happen. We appreciate you two more than you know! Highly recommend this dream team if you are in search of two amazing wedding planners.
XOXO Kiana and Garret
